The concept made by Mrs. Nelum Waduge, President - Mechanized Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch to uplift the living standard of serving soldiers of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, extended the financial support to renovate and complete partially built houses of Corporal Ekanayaka EAG who was sustained with injury during UN mission in Mali and Lance Corporal Piayadasa LWCP who is under treatment due to accidental injury.
The construction was carried out with the supervision and man power provided by 1 MIR and 4 MIR troops. The completed projects were visited by the President and Senior members of Mechanized Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch together with Major General S S Waduge RWP RSP USP ndu psc - Colonel of the Regiment MIR, Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP - Centre Commandant and Commanding Officers of 1 MIR & 4 MIR.
