MECHANIZED INFANTRY TRAINING CENTRE GETS OWN SMALL ARMS SIMULATOR SYSTEM, OPEN AIR THEATRE AND MEDICAL INSPECTION ROOM

The newly constructed Small Arms Simulator System, Open Air Theatre and Medical Inspection Room were vested in the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre by the hands of The Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Priyanka Fernando RWP USP on 04 December 2021 at the invitation of Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Training Centre Colonel Koshina Peiris RSP.

The Small Arms Simulator System is an application of modern technology for training that gives real firing feelings and effects of the field without being in the field. It provides a training facility with a minimum cost and time. The Simulator System is and inversion of the Centre for Defence Research and Development. A Training team led by navel team of Lcdr Widanagamage, Lcdr Gamage and team contributed for the installation and training of the Instructor team of MITC.

Further, the Open Air Theatre is one of its best amenities for all ranks. Moreover, the Medical Inspection Room had been a highly needed facility for the Training Centre and finally became a reality, achieving more than the expected level with the modern hospital beds and other facilities.

The Centre for Defence Research and Development, Army Headquarters, Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre and all Mechanized Infantry Battalions contributed immensely and troops attached to the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre contributed in numerous ways, especially through their technically skilled manpower.

Mechanized Infantry Regimental Council Members includes of Brigadier Udaya Herath RWP RSP USP psc Hdmc, Brigadier Janaka Priyadarsahana RWP RSP USP, Brigadier Kumara Wanasinghe RSP USP, Brigadier Kavinda Balasooriya RSP psc and Commanding Officers of the Mechanized Infantry Battalions took part for the Opening Ceremony.
