MECHANIZED INFANTRY ROWERS DISPLAYED THEIR TALENTS IN NATIONAL ROWING COMPETITION - 2018

The Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka (ARASL) organized 33rd National Rowing Competition 2018 at Diyawanna Oya from 20 to 22 April 2018. Major General M P Peiris (Retd) RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Over 350 athletes from 17 island-wide organizations, representative of armed forces, leading universities,and international schools took part in rowing events.

Sri Lanka Army teams achieved its Championship for the 7th consecutive year in an impressive contest. Following achievements were won by Mechanized Infantry Regiment rowers in different events:

S/829498 Lance Corporal Weerasinghe RDKS (4MIR) - achieved the 2nd place in open pair event.

S/830110 Private Karunaratne R T S (2 MIR) - achieved the 3rd place in Open Coxless Four event and 2nd place in Pair event (over 18).
