MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT OFFICERS' TRAINING DAY

The first Training session was held on 19 August 2015 and the second session was held on 06 January 2016 at the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Headquarters with the participation of 96 Officers\' as per the directions given by the Army Headquarters. Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen AM Perera RWP RSP psc articipated the event and addressed all officers during his opening remarks stating the importance of officers' training day.

The 'Training Day' commenced with Physical Training and Drill sessions. After that, the group presentation was conducted by officers of 1st Battalion the Mechanized Infantry Regiment under topics of & "Modern Concept of the Mechanized Infantry and Its applicability to Sri Lanka".

Following guest speakers were conducted lectures as per the training day programme.
Mr RM Wijerathne a senior lecturer in the Social and Institutional Development Unit of Sri Lanka

Foundation conducted a lecture on Cultural fluency for social development
Dr. Lalith Welamedage conducted a lecture on Entrepreneurship as a post Military carreer
Prof. Shantha Hennayake conducted a lecture on Geo Political hot spots in the contemporary world

The day's proceedings culminated with a dinners club session at Officers' Mess.
