10th consecutive the Mechanized Infantry Ranaviru Udanaya - 2019 organized by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment was successfully held on 30th and 31st August and 01 September 2019 at the Gam Udawa grounds Dambulla.
The Mechanized Infantry Ranaviru Udanaya is the flagship and the main annual fund raising event of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment which is specially focused on to the welfare of the families of KIA personnel, differently abled war heroes and the serving personnel.The success of the event was a result of untiring efforts by the Centre Commandant and All Ranks of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment.
Major General A M S B Atapattu - Director Media, Army Headquarters, Director/Spokesman - Media Centre, Ministry of Defence, The Colonel of the Regiment - Mechanized Infantry Regiment, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on first day of the event.
Brigadier A G D N Jayasundera RWP RSP - Director, Human Rights & Humanitarian Law, Army Headquarters graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on second day and Mrs. Freddrika Atapattu, President - Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club was the Chief Guest of the last day.
Mechanized Infantry "Ranaviru Udanaya" marks prominent and mega carnival event in Dambulla area. The event offers safety and peaceful background for Civilians to entertain with their families. It was colourful with Mechanized Infantry Armoured Vehicle display and many fun games including newly introduced Mega Tron, Galaxy, Well of Death, Merrigo Round, Horror House, with many more entertaining activities. At the end of the each day, event was decorated with Musical show performed by "Sahara Flash, "Arrow Star" and "Flash Back" along with the dancing teams of "Omaya" , "Senshiyan" and "Rangeena" with popular singers.
