FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT BY THE COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT TO THE 3RD BATTALION MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT
Major General A G D N Jayasundera RWP RSP - Colonel of the Regiment, Mechanized Infantry Regiment paid his first official visit to the 3rd Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 26 February 2020.
The Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel D M M Dissanayaka RWP MIR - Commanding Officer by presenting a formal Guard Turnout.
Colonel K K S Perakum RWP RSP MIR - Deputy Centre Commandant - Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Colonel A H A D Ariyasena RWP RSP USP psc - Commanding Officer, Recruit Training Wing, Army Training School along with Regimental Staff Officers accompanied the Colonel of the Regiment.
Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment was attended for the group photograph followed by planting of saplin, formal briefing, troops address, all ranks tea party and camp visit. During the camp visit Colonel of the Regiment was declared opened the newly constructed 100 x 20 building and newly constructed TV Room as the main events of the day, s itinerary. Finally, the lunch hosted by the Commanding Officer was arranged at the Officers' Mess.
