FAREWELL CEREMONY FOR OUTGOING COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT

The Mechanized Infantry Regiment bid farewell to outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Major General MKD Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu on 01 September 2018. Commencing with day's proceedings a Guard Turnout was presented in honour of outgoing Colonel of the Regiment. Brigadier AMSB Atapattu with senior Council members warmly welcomed the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment at the parade ground. A Guard of Honour was presented in honour of Colonel of the Regiment at the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre parade ground by Mechanized Infantry troops comprises with Infantry Carrying Vehicles (ICVs) and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs).

After The Ceremonial parade the Colonel of the Regiment paid floral tribute to the war heroes' monument. Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment shared views with Other Rankers during All Ranks tea party.

Finally, "Farewell Lunch" was hosted in respect of the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment and outgoing President of Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club Mrs. Shiromi Masakorala by all Officers with their spouses at the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Officers' Mess. Then outgoing Colonel of the Regiment moved out from the Officers' Mess on a WMZ 551 B Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) while blessing with "Jaya Sri" by Other Ranks who lined up in front of the Regimental Centre.
