THE DELEGATION FROM INDIAN ARMY MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENTAL CENTRE VISITED MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT

The delegation from Indian Army Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre visited Mechanized Infantry Regiment Dambuluhalmillawewa and Mechanized Infantry Training Centre (MITC) from 16 December 2019 to 20 December 2019. The visiting delegation comprised with Col Rohit Gupta, Maj Sonam Juneja and Maj Om Chetan Puri. The visit was organized as follow up action of Army to Army Staff talk between Sri Lanka and India.

The Centre Commandant, Brigadier S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP with Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre warmly welcomed the visiting delegation.

As per the itinerary of the visit delegation visited Mechanized Infantry Training Centre (MITC). The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Commandant - MITC, Col B P G K Balasooriya RSP psc and had formal discussion at his office.

A separate briefing on Mechanized Infantry Training Centre and its functions was conducted by the Commandant - MITC and discuss on further enhancement of military training cooperation between both organizations. Demonstration on attack to enemy hideout by Mechanized Infantry Platoon and Riot control were displayed to the visiting delegation.

Apart from the official visit, the delegation visited interesting places around Mannar, Dambulla, Trincomalee and Kandy area. Concluding the visit, delegation arrived to the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre. The Centre Commandant and Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre organized interaction session with special Dinner for the delegation. The Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier L S Balachandra RSP graced the occasion. At the climax of the event, mementos were exchanged to mark the event.
