Colonel of the Regiment Major General JR Kulatunga RSP ndc psc paid his first official visit to the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre on 22 December 2016. The Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Comdt - MITC. A formal Guard Turnout presented to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment. He was accorded with a Guard of Honour to mark the ceremonially inauguration of newly constructed Parade Square. During the visit he declared opened newly-constructed WOs' & Sgts Mess, NCOs' Club, ORs' Mess and Drinking water project.
Colonel of the Regiment visited 2 Mech Inf also in the same day. He addressed all Officer and Other Ranks of the battalion. CO - 2 Mech Inf conducted a presentation on the operational and administrative matters of the battalion. Colonel of the Regiment insists upon drawbacks, observations made by the Admin Inspection team of Regtl Centre. CO - 2 Mech Inf presented a plaque to the Colonel of the Regiment to mark his first official visit to 2 Mech Inf.
