On 27th March 2016 the Colonel of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Major General GDHK Gunarathne WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc and senior officers have visited the areas of Mechanized Infantry Brigade, 1st of Mechanized Infantry and 4th Mechanized Infantry searching for officers/other rankers wellness.
On his visit firstly the Colonel of the Regiment has observed the Mechanized Infantry Brigade. In there he was warmly welcome by a guard of honour, for this visit senior officers\' of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Brigadier AMSB Athapattu, Brigadier AGDN Jayasundera RWP RSP and Centre Commandant Colonel LS Balachandra RSP and other senior officers\' were participated.
Colonel of the Regiment has addressed the Mechanized Infantry Brigade and the 1st and 4th Mechanized Infantry and he has Officially opened newly constracted Mechanized infantry Brigade office complex and 4th Mechanized Infantry new officer accommodation Building.
