CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY OF YOUNG OFFICERS COURSE - 08

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Young Officers Course - 08 was held at the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre on 26 November 2019. Brigadier L S Balachandra RSP - Commander, Mechanized Infantry Brigade was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Further, Colonel B P G K Balasooriya RSP psc - Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Training Centre, Instructors, Staff Officers also participated in the event.

10 Young Officers have successfully completed the course. The aim of the course was to train Young Officers as competent Platoon Commanders to command men and material in both war /peace time operations. The objectives of the course were focused to mentor Young Officers to be qualified as the potential Officers in the regiment. In light of the above, the course was designed to enhance theoretical and practical knowledge on Mechanized Infantry related armoured vehicles with a series of comprehensive lectures and workshops.

Further, it is essential to be qualified in this course in the Mechanized Infantry Regiment to consider for future career progression.
