CENTRE COMMANDANT VISITS THE 5TH BATTALION MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT

The visit of Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment to 5^th Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held on 06 August 2020.

Centre Commandant was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel M A W Hemantha Kumara USP MIR - Commanding Officer, 5^th Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment upon arrival at the entrance and greeted with a guard turnout.

Subsequently, he was participated for the planting a sapling and witnessed the briefing conducted by Commanding Officer on Operational & Administrative matters. Thereafter, attended for the troops address and camp visit.

During the visit, Centre Commandant was ushered to grace with presence to declare open the newly constructed welfare complex followed by interaction session with all Officers and invited for the lunch hosted by the Commanding Officer.

Adding memories, during his distinguished visit the Commanding Officer presented a plaque to mark the event. The day's event reached its conclusion after conveyed best wishes for future career prospects while keeping remarks on the Visitors, Book.
