Celebration of 70th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army was held on 10 October 2019 after attending the series of military formalities. Accordingly, under the guidance of Major General A M S B Atapattu, Colonel of the Regiment and Colonel S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP, Centre Commandant the Mechanized Infantry Regiment was organized an event in front of the Headquarters Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army.
Senior Officers/Officers/Other Ranks and Civil Servants were participated in the event. The event was commenced with hoisting the Army flag followed by the Army Song. Thereafter, two minutes silence was maintained to commemorate the fallen war heros of the Sri Lanka Army. The message of Lieutenant General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Commander of the Army for 70th Anniversary on 10 October 2019 was announced by the Deputy Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment. Subsequently, an Officer and Other Ranks who were promoted to the next ranks also privileged to wear their respective ranks as a ceremony on the day. Finally, to mark the event success, planting of sapling was held with the participation of Officers/Other Ranks and Civil Servants.
