BRIGADIER A M S B ATAPATTU ASSUMED DUTIES AS 9TH COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT

Brigadier A M S B Atapattu assumed office as the 9th Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 03 September 2018. The Colonel of the Regiment honoured with a formal Guard Turnout at the entrance. Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment paid floral tribute to the war heroes' monument.

The Ceremonial Military parade was presented in honour of the Colonel of the Regiment at the Regimental Centre parade ground with Mechanized Infantry troops comprises with Infantry Carrying Vehicles (ICVs) and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs). At the auspicious time, Colonel of the Regiment placed his signature for a formal document to signify the acceptance of duties and responsibilities of the appointment in the presence of Centre Commandant, Brigade Commander, other Senior Officers, all Commanding Officers and staff of the Regimental Centre after a brief religious observances and lighting of the traditional oil lamp.

After accepting the duties the Colonel of the Regiment addressed all Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment. Thereafter, he shared views with Other Rankers during All Ranks tea party.
