The 12th Annual General Meeting of the Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club was held on 22nd June at the Officers' Mess, Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police with the participation of Spouses of Mechanized Infantry Officers.
President of the Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club, Mrs. Fredrica Atapattu graced occasion as the Chief Guest and she was warmly welcomed by the Vice President Mrs. Manori Jayasundera together with the Secretary Mrs. Lathika Ushanthi on her arrival.
After lightning the traditional oil lamp, one minute silence was observed in memory of all fallen War Heroes, followed by the recital of Army Sewa Vanitha song was taken place.
Delivering the welcome speech, the President, Mrs. Fredrica Atapattu stressed the importance of maintaining commitment to a highest level by ladies in achieving best results from the mandated job.
A special event was taken place during the event. The 50,000/= worth fixed deposit was opened and handed over to the daughter of late Major Ushan Sathyajith for her future benefits.
During the session a lecture was conducted by Major Thiwanga Wijesinghe from 12 SLSC on "How to use social media effectively ?" and Summing up the 12th Annual General Meeting the Secretary, Mrs. Lathika Ushanthi thanked all the members of the ladies club for their keen interest and valuable contribution towards the Regimental activities.
