1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment is deployed at Iyakkachchi in Jaffna Theatre. The Battalion consists with tracked T 89 APCs/BMP MK II AFVs to secure and maintain the security in the area. The Battalion is performing duties under Mechanized Infantry Brigade.
