The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch (SVBGW) successfully organized the ‘’ සේවා වනිතා සිසු අභිමන් - 2025 ( Stage II )’’ scholarship awarding ceremony on 17 August 2025 at Paradise Hall - Regimental Head Quarters - Gemunu Watch.

The programme was initiated under the concept of Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, The president of the SVBGW, with the full guidance and support of Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP the Director General Infantry and The Colonel of the Regiment - Gemunu Watch.

According to the concept of the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch Dr. (Mrs) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, conducted an essential medical equipment donation programme to the cancer ward of Teaching Hospital Kurunegala on 03 August 2025, continuing efforts to support national healthcare institution and contribute meaningfully to the society.

As a part of this initiative, SVBGW donated a patient trolley and a Dressing trolley valued at Rs. 200 000.00, with the aim of improving the comfort and wellbeing of cancer patients receiving care.

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch (SVBGW) organized the commemorative ceremony - 2025 (Stage - II ) රණවිරු මා පිය වන්දනා - 2025 (අදියර II), to honour the parents of fallen war heroes. The event took place on 27 July 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, The Gemunu Watch.

The event was held under the concept of Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, The president of the SVBGW, with the guidance from Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP the Director General Infantry and The Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch.

The Director General Infantry and The Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch Major General W.B.J.K Wimalaratne RWP RSP and Dr. (Mrs) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, participated in a dry ration distribution programme at 12th Battalion the Gemunu Watch on 19th July 2025 with the invitation of the Commanding Officer of 12th Battalion the Gemunu Watch Lieutenant Colonel GS Ranasinghe RWP RSP USP.

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch (SVBGW) ceremonially handed over a newly constructed house to Mr. B.A. Sirikumara, a dedicated civil employee of the Gemunu Watch, on 19 July 2025 at Kekirihena, Maha Oya.

The formal handing-over ceremony was marked by auspicious rituals and blessings, with the house being declared open by Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, President of the SVBGW, together with Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment – The Gemunu Watch.

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch (SVBGW) successfully organized an informative lecture followed by its monthly meeting on 16 July 2025 at the Officers’ Mess, Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Corps of Signals, Panagoda.

The farewell ceremony for Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc was held at the Regiment Centre on 05 July 2025 at the occasion of his retirement after completing over 33 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.

On 22 June 2025, in a grand display of military tradition and camaraderie, the Gemunu Watch Regiment held a felicitous ceremony to honor the recent promotions of Major General A M A Abeyawardana WWV RWP RSP ndc, Major General S A Hettige RSP psc, and Major General K M V Kodituwakku ndu. The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Major General W B J K Wimalaratne RWP RSP, the Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment, embodying the spirit of unity and pride that the regiment upholds.
