SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF GEMUNU WATCH DONATES BOTTLED WATER TO PILGRIMS AT KANDY

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch organized a bottled water donation programme during the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy.
The event was held on 25 April 2025, and aimed to support the thousands of pilgrims who visited the temple. The President Dr.(Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalarathne and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch were participated the event.

SEVA VANITHA BRANCH HOLDS ITS' MONTHLY MEETING ON 15 APRIL 2025

The monthly meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch was held on 15 April 2025, presided over by Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalarathne, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch. During the meeting, members of GWSVB discussed ongoing and upcoming welfare projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mrs. Dinesha Niluka de Silva(Spouse of Lt Col Isuru Alwis - Commander - RFT GW), a member of the GWSVB, made a generous donation of Rs. 50,000 to support future welfare initiatives. Her contribution was warmly appreciated by the president and all attending members.

Gemunu Watch "Junior Highlanders" Club Embarks on Sacred Sri Pada Pilgrimage

On 12 April 2025, the Gemunu Watch "Junior Highlanders" Club organized a spiritually enriching pilgrimage to Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak), guided by Major General WBJK Wimalarathne RWP RSP, Director General of Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment, alongside Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalarathne, President of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch. The event saw the participation of 12 dedicated members, who ascended the sacred mountain with devotion and unity.

“සූර් ය මංගල්‍යය” Sinhala New Year Festival Celebrated in Grand Style

On 11 April 2025 The vibrant spirit of the Sinhala New Year came to life at the “සූර් ය මංගල්‍යය” Festival, organized by the Regiment Centre of the Gemunu Watch. Under the esteemed guidance of Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment, the event was a spectacular showcase of tradition, camaraderie, and joyous celebration.

HEALTH CAMP ORGANIZED BY GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH FOR SPOUSES AND CLOSE RELATIVES OF GEMUNU WAR HEROES

Health Camp Organized by Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch for Families of Gemunu War Heroes On 29 March 2025, the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha branch successfully organized a comprehensive health camp under the theme "ඇය රුකගනිමු" for the wives and close relatives of the families of Gemunu war heroes. This significant event was conducted in collaboration with the Provincial Director of Health Services Office in Rathnapura and the Medical Officer of Health in Kuruvita.

COLONEL KMN DIKKUMBURA RSP ASSUMED THE DUTIES AS THE 24TH CENTRE COMMANDANT OF REGIMENTAL CENTRE THE GEMUNU WATCH

On 29th March 2025 – Colonel KMN Dikkumbura officially took on the role of the 24th Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch today, marking a significant milestone in his military career amid formal ceremonies at the Regimental Headquarters.

TROOPS BID FAREWELL MILITARY SALUTE TO OUTGOING CENTRE COMMANDANT

A heartfelt farewell ceremony for Brigadier AD Rodrigo RWP RSP psc, the outgoing Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch, was held over two days, On 28th and 29th March 2025 at the regimental center The Gemunu Watch to honoring his exemplary service and leadership.

The ceremony began with Colonel WWKMN Wikramasinghe RWP RSP, the Deputy Centre Commandant, extending a warm welcome to Brigadier Rodrigo, who was in voted to review the Guard Turnout at the entrance of the Centre. This formal gesture set the tone for a day of appreciation and reflection.

DEPUTY MINISTER OF DEFENCE VISITS REGIMENTAL CENTRE OF THE GEMUNU WATCH

The Regimental Centre of The Gemunu Watch warmly welcomed Major General K.P.A Jayasekara (Retd) WWV RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Deputy Minister of Defence, on an official visit on 16 March 2025. His arrival was marked by a ceremonial drive pass, reflecting the military traditions and respect afforded to such a high-ranking official.
