Sri Lanka Artillery bid farewell to Major General W B S M Abeysekera RSP VSV USP, on 08 October 2023. Farewell formalities were held in its customary way at the Artillery Regimental Centre, Panagoda.
Commencement of the ceremony for marked by laying a flower wreath to the fallen war heroes at the Regimental Monument. A Guard turnout and a Farewell Parade were accorded to the Major General W B S M Abeysekera RSP VSV USP, by the Troops of the Regiment. The Officers present were attended a tea at the WOs’/Sgts’ Mess followed by All Ranks Lunch at ORs’ Mess - 4 SLA.
The days’ events were concluded with formal Dinner Night hosted by the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, at the Officers’ Mess Panagoda.
