Assuming the office as the Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army

The Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu assumed the office as the 40th Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army on 08 June 2023 at the Army Headquarters.

Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu placed his signature to a formal document as a symbolic gesture of taking over the duties, in the presence of Senior Officers of the Regiment and the staff of the DCOS office after a brief religious rituals and by lighting a traditional oil lamp.
