Sri Lanka Artillery Joined with the Sports and Physical Health Promotion Programme
Series of events was organized by the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery to mark National Week on Sports and Physical Health Promotion as per the concept proclaimed by His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena under the guidance of Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva from 25 to 30 Jan 2016 at Regimental headquarters, Panagoda with the supervision of Major General Sumith Manawaduge, Colonel Commandant of the Regiment.
The declared week was commenced with two important lectures related to Sport and Health conducted by Capt WKPS Bandara SLAGSC and concluded with physical training session conducted as per the schedule published by AHQ which was attended by most of the officers and other ranks of Regimental Centre. Cricket Tournament, daily Physical Training Sessions were featured in the programme which culminated with Drawing Competition on the themes of \'Sports for All\', Sports for Peace and \'Sports for Health, Success, and Happiness\' on 30th January, the Special Day of Sport and Physical Health Development.
Gnr Vitharana WH of 15 SLA won the First Place in the Drawing Competition for his pencil drawing \'Sport for Peace\'.
