Lt Col M I S Chandrakumara USP psc IG SLA assumed duties as the 15th Commanding Officer of the 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 01 February 2023 at Headquarters, 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Sinhapura, Welikanda.

Programme for assuming duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout. Lt Col M I S Chandrakumara USP psc IG SLA placed his signature on a formal document after a brief religious observance as a symbolic gesture of taking over the command. The day’s event included planting a Mango sapling, troop address, all ranks tea and a camp visit.
