Farewell Ceremony to Major General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG
Sri Lanka Artillery bid farewell to its outgoing Colonel Commandant Major General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG on 31st August 2015 who retired after serving 35 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held in its customary way at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda. \r\n\r\nThe commencement of the ceremony marked by paying obeisance to the fallen heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice to the motherland by laying a floral wreath at the Regiment Monument. All Regular and Volunteer units together with School of Artillery accorded the Guard Turnout and Regimental Parade in honour of the senior Gunner Officer followed by tea party at WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess, planting a tree sapling and all rank lunch in customary manner.\r\n\r\nThe day’s event also textured with the Farewell Dinner hosted in honour of the outgoing Colonel Commandant by all Officers of the Regiment at the Officers’ Mess.\r\n\r\nMajor General SAAL Perera commented in his speech both at the Regimental Parade and Farewell Dinner, that extending his heartfelt gratitude for the generous assistance offered by many ways by all Officers and Other Ranks during his military career.
