STUDENT OFFICERS OF SENIOR COMMAND COURSE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED EXERCISE GREAT WALL
The Student Officers of Senior Command Course (SCC) 17 of the Army War College successfully concluded Exercise GREAT WALL, conducted from 23 to 29 May 2026.
Exercise GREAT WALL is a key operational level training exercise aimed at enhancing decision making skills and the application of the estimate process at brigade level within a divisional framework. Conducted as a sub syndicate activity, the exercise included Mission Analysis, Cloth Model Discussions and a Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT) in the general area of Kodayana, Siyambalanduwa.
Through structured planning, professional critique and ground validation, the Student Officers effectively translated doctrinal knowledge into practical defensive plans, thereby strengthening their tactical judgement and operational thinking. Despite a demanding academic schedule, the officers demonstrated resilience, adaptability, teamwork and sound professional judgement throughout the exercise.
Exercise GREAT WALL continues to reflect the Army War College commitment of to developing confident, resilient and operationally capable future commanders who are prepared to meet the challenges of complex security environments.
