SENIOR COMMAND COURSE STUDENTS VISIT MATTALA AIR PORT AND HAMBANTHOTA PORT

Consistent with the course curriculum, the Student Officers of Senior Command Course No 11 visited Mattala Rajapaksha International Airport (MRIA) and Hambanthota International Port (HIP) on 24 June 2024. Deputy Commandant, Brigadier MWARC Wijesuriya RSP USP ndc representing the Commandant Army War College Major General Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, took part in the visit together with the Overlooking Officiating Chief Instructor, Directing Staff and the Student Officers of Senior Command Course

Upon departure from the AWC, the first destination was the MRIA where the Student Officers were able to eyewitness the terminals and the compartments of the Air Port and listen to a comprehensive briefing

Thereafter, the delegation reached the Hambanthota International Port and visited the area having had a comprehensive presentation conducted on the Hambanthota International Port Group (HIPG), management and security of the port by the competent staff. The presentation facilitated to fathom the functions of HIP, cargo operations, security measures and future prospects which would enable to boost the country’s economy

To mark the study tour, the Deputy Commandant Brigadier MWARC Wijesuriya RSP USP ndc presented mementos to the officials of both MRIA and HIPG
