COMMANDER SF JAFFNA LECTURED AT AWC BUTTALA ON THE LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES AND COMMAND'S EXPERIENCE

‘Leadership Challenges (Command’s Experience)’ is an obligatory subject that is generally conducted by an inherently battle-hardened and experienced senior military Officer who has led the troops in the battle. Having accepted the invitation of the Army War College, the Commander, Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J), Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc MA (IR), conducted the lecture participating as the guest lecturer on 04 April 2024 at the Auditorium of AWC. On his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Major General Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc the Commandant Army War College.

Setting an example, thus fulfilling the programmed requirement of educating the future leaders, SF-J Commander, delivered a two-hour inspiring lecture that enlightened the audience on Command’s Experience blended with leadership challenges of over 35 years of military life. During the lecture, this gifted speaker in English and a meticulous military presenter who is widely respected as a versatile conversationalist and a scholar, discussed deep into the essential skills required to become an effective leader and commander, whilst emphasizing key concepts and philosophies which helped him to cultivate strong leadership potentials at a number of severe battle conditions.

The guest speaker's insights until the end, were not only informative and educational but truly inspiring and captivating for the enthusiastic audience that composed of 113 Student Officers of the Senior Command Course – 10, Junior Command Course – 29 and Junior Staff Course - 25 including four foreign officers from friendly foreign countries, Bangladesh, India, Maldives and Zambia, along with Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, Members of the Faculty and Members of the Permanent Staff.

In recognition of his invaluable contribution and dedication of his time amidst extremely busy schedules for the betterment of the future leaders of the Army, the Commandant of the Army War College, presented a token of appreciation to the guest speaker.
