WAR COLLEGE WELCOMES NEW STUDENT OFFICERS FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

The Army War College commenced a set of courses in the first trimester for year 2024 with a short yet a notable opening session on 02 January 2024. Under three separate courses, namely Senior Command Course 10 (SCC), Junior Command Course 29 (JCC) and Junior Staff Course 25 (JSC), altogether 117 Student Officers comprising 4 Student Officers from friendly foreign countries, are supposed to follow the respective training Courses.

The SCC comprises of 29 student officers and the JCC is composed with 65 Student Officers including four foreign Student Officer from Bangladesh, India, Maldives and Zambia Army. JSC comprises of 23 Officers.

While delivering the opening address, Major General UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant, Army War College elaborated the importance and the validity of undergoing such courses for the career progression of junior, middle grade and senior Army Officers. He also noted that participants of student officers representing the armies and Defence Forces of friendly foreign nations in the world would enrich the learning environment and shareg experiences among their counterparts from different regiments of the Sri Lanka Army.

Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Members of the Faculty and the Permanent Staff also attended the opening ceremony held at the Main Auditorium.
