INDIA-SRI LANKA ARMY TO ARMY INSTRUCTOR EXCHANGE PROGRAMME IN PROGRESS.

On the eve of strengthening the bilateral understanding and exchanging military knowledge and traditions of both Armies of India and Sri Lanka, the 9th Army to Army Staff Talks (AAST) between Sri Lanka and India was conducted in India in February 2022.

According to the proceedings of the proposed bilateral agreements, several bilateral events had been planned. Under the Instructor Exchange programme, it was proposed to exchange Indian Army War College (AWC) instructors to Sri Lanka AWC as the Instructors for the Senior Command Course (SSC) and Junior Command Course (JCC).

As the preliminary part of the fruitful execution of the programme, Lieutenant Colonel Vinayak Hivrale, Staff Officer Grade 1 (Foreign Training) a representative Officer of Indian AWC made a visit to AWC, Buttala on 31 October 2023.

Visiting Indian Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Commandant Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc.

Before the departure, a brief session of bilateral discussion was held and then the delegation presented a plaque to the Commandant of AWC where the gesture was customarily reciprocated.
