STUDENT OFFICERS OF ARMY WAR COLLEGE VISITED SRI LANKA MILITARY ACADEMY

Student Officers of Senior Command Course 9 (SCC) undergoing training at Army War College (AWC) Buttala made an educational visit to Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) Diyatalawa on 28 October 2023. The visit was organized as a part of curriculum of the course in studding and enhancing of knowledge in military traditions and customary practices within an absolute learning environment.

The visiting delegation was warmly welcome by the Deputy Commandant Brigadier RRMPNB Bambaradeniya RWP RSP USP psc of SLMA at Sino Lanka Auditorium. Then, the student officers in the visit witnessed a demonstration on Ceremonial Drills displayed at the parade ground of the academy.

Thereafter, they witnessed a Guard Turn out at the ‘A’ gate of Thistle Camp, the visiting delegation also viewed a demonstration of ‘Guard of Honours’ at the parade ground followed by witnessing a display of Military Funeral Drill at Fox hill Area that brought the visit to an end.

Altogether 36 Student Officers and members of the directing staff that consisted of Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor and Senior Instructor also joined the visit.

In appreciation of the generous support of the SLMA to the AWC, visiting student officers awarded a plaque as a token of appreciation.
