AWC TROOPS HONOURED THE NEWLY PROMOTED TWO STAR GENERAL

Commandant of the Army War College (AWC), who was recently promoted to the ‘Two Star General' rank in the Sri Lanka Army, Major General UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc was honoured with a Guard Turnout by the troops on 16th September 2023 at the AWC Buttala.

Major General Dinesh Udugama was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Commandant Brigadier BPGK Balasooriya RSP psc on his arrival to the AWC and troops bestowed a Guard Turnout to the newly promoted Commandant at the main entrance.

To mark this memorable occasion, he also posed for a group photograph in front of the Main Auditorium with Officers and Other Ranks serving in the AWC. After a few minutes, he planted a sapling at the Main Auditorium premises in memory of the day’s significance.

Then, the Commandant addressed the gathering of all officers and other ranks serving in the AWC at the Main Auditorium and he conveyed his gratitude and thanks to all his seniors who guided him to achieve this important milestone in his military life. Further, he thanked all staff of the AWC for the day’s arrangements.

Then, an all ranks Tea party was held at the Mini Conference Hall where the Chief Guest was warmly greeted by all Officers and Other Ranks.

Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Senior Officers, Officers & Other Ranks were present at the brief ceremony.
