COMMANDANT AND STAFF OF ARMY WAR COLLEGE RECEIVES BLESSINGS FROM VENARABLE RAJAGIRIYE ARIYAGNANA THERO

One of the most respected Buddhist monks of the country, Ven Rajagiriye Ariyagnana Thero, during his stay in the Buttala-Moneragla area for a program of Dhamma preaching made a visit to Army War College Buttala on 22 June 2023. The venerated bikkhu was reverently received with all rites by Brigadier UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant and staff officers of AWC. This blessings awakening visit was made as a result of the virtuous understanding that had been carried out between Venerable Thero and the Commandant. The Commandant, Chief Instructor along with staff and faculty members who were out of programmed duties attended the occasion by observing ‘pansil’ and received blessings amidst listening to ‘seth pirith’ preached by him.

The teachings of Ven Rajagiriye Ariyagnana Thero, popularly known as ‘Unknown Forest Monk’ are widely considered to be powerful and compelling. The dhamma discussions; he carried out, titled “Maha Rahathun Wadi Maga Osse” as a practitioner of experimental wisdom of Buddhist philosophy, have reached the souls and minds of many Buddhist devotees in the country.
