THE NEW COMMANDANT ARMY WAR COLLEGE ASSUMES DUTIES

Brigadier UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc assumed duties as the Commandant of the Army War College, Buttala on 5th June 2023 with a brief ceremony.

The new Commandant was accorded with a Guard Turnout on his arrival and was warmly received by the Deputy Commandant with other Senior Officers. Subsequently, the formalities of assuming duties with the signing of documents at auspicious time marked the acceptance of his new office amidst religious observances.

Soon after assuming duties, the Commandant planted a sapling in the college premises and In memory of this occasion, he posed for a photograph with all the officers and other ranks serving in the AWC.

Subsequently he addressed the officers of the Defence Studies Branch, the Permanent Staff and other ranks respectively at the Main Auditorium.

The brief ceremony culminated with all rank welcome refreshment arranged at the Mini Conference Hall in honour of the new Commandant.
