Army War College Organises Donation of Books & Accessories to Needy Students

The Army War College (AWC) organized a book donation programme at Monaragala-based three schools on 14 March 2023.

The donation of each stationary pack worth of Rs.3500.00 was made by ‘Atha Hitha 2023’ funded by the old boys’ association of Royal College Colombo and the old scholars’ association of Sri Jayawardhanapura University.

Altogether a stock of 238 packs of school stationaries was gifted to the school students during the program. As per the arrangement of the donation project, needy students belonging to 3 schools located in the Monaragala area received packs of stationaries at the above ceremonies held in separate school premises.

‘Atha Hitha 2023’ headed by the active member Mr. Prasad Lokubalasuriya coordinated the books donation project.

A stock of 121 stationary packs was gifted among students at schooling to Gonagan Ara Kanishta Vidyalaya in Monaragala, a stock of 79 stationary packs was gifted to students of Janashanka Modal School at Mahagoda Yaya in Monaragala and a stock of 38 was gifted among students at Therela Kanishta Vidyalaya, Monaragala.

Brigadier YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commandant, Army War College, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed books and stationeries among students.

Deputy Commandant, Army War College, Brigadier MCSK Senarathna RWP RSP also took part in association with the books donation ceremony.

Several Senior Officers of AWC, teachers, and students of the school were present at the brief ceremony.
