WORKSHOP ON INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF THE RED CROSS AND INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) conducted one day workshop on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) for the Student Officers of SCC and JCC on 25 October 2022 at the Army War College.

Mr. Albert Schoneveld, the Armed Forces delegate of ICRC to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh together with Mr. Channa Jayawardane, the Armed and Security Forces Programme Adviser of Sri Lanka at the ICRC conducted the lectures in an interactive manner.

ICRC's role and mandate, activities in Sri Lanka, International Law and its legal framework for military operations, International Humanitarian Law and command responsibility were the key areas covered during the day's program.
