STUDENT OFFICERS OF SCC 4 COMPLETES A SUCESSFUL STUDY TOUR

The Student Officers of Senior Command Course 4 visited important Government Ministries and military organisations in Colombo to get acquainted with their functions and duties from 21 to 23 March 2022.

During the visit, the Student Officers had the golden opportunity to interact with the Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and got a sound understanding on the foreign policy and its challenges. At the Ministry of Defence, the Military Liaison Officer interacted with the Student Officers and discussed on the current security issues. Furthermore, the visit to the Centre for Defence Research and Development became an eye opener where the Director General briefed on the development of the defence research field.

The course also visited the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters where the Chief of Staff and Principal Staff Officers closely interacted with the Student Officers and shared their valuable experiences and insights. At the HQ Naval Command (West), the Student Officers were briefed on its role and the current maritime preparedness. In addition, at the Air Force Base at Rathmalana, the Student Officers got the opportunity to learn about the military aircrafts available in SLAF.

Further, lectures on Central Bank, Sri Lanka Coast Guard and Security of Coastal Line and Sri Lanka Administrative Services were organised and conducted during the visit.

The Commandant, Major General UUKLS Perera RWP RSP USP psc headed the delegation which consisted 34 Student Officers, Faculty Members and Supporting Staff.
