THE NEW COMMANDANT ASSUMES DUTIES

Major General UUKLS Perera RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties as the new Commandant of the Army War College, Buttala on 21st December 2021 with a charm ceremony.

The new Commandant was accorded with a Guard Turnout on his arrival and was warmly received by the Deputy Commandant with other Senior Officers. Subsequently, the formal procedure of assuming duties with the signing of documents at auspicious time marked the acceptance of his new office amidst religious observances.

Soon after assuming duties, the Commandant planted a ‘Mango Sapling’ in the HQ premises. Then he addressed the troop at the Main Auditorium and later he chaired a conference with key appointment holders; he was briefed on functions and conduct of AWC.

The brief ceremony culminated with welcome dinner arranged at the Officers’ Mess fin honour of the new Commandant.
