CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF AND COMMANDER OF THE ARMY INAUGURATES THE ARMY WAR COLLEGE

The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Chief Guest of today’s event officially designated OCDC as Army War College and bestowed to the Sri Lanka Army.

The historic designation marks the beginning of a new chapter in the professional military education of the officer corps of the Sri Lanka Army. The Chief Guest marked the inauguration symbolically by unveiling the Army War College plaque at the main auditorium premises.

As per the military traditions, Chief Guest was welcomed with a warm and courteous reception at the entrance accorded by a Drive Past.

Coinciding with its designation, the new website of AWC was symbolically launched by the Chief Guest.
