JCC TEAM 3 BAGS VICTORY AT 2021/2 OCDC CRICKET TOURNAMENT

OCDC held their much-anticipated Cricket Tournament on Sunday, 25 July 2021 at OCDC playground with the aspiration of boosting team spirit and organising capability among the student officers. The teams comprised from the courses and the permanent staff.

The Commandant of OCDC, Maj Gen DBSN Bothota RWP RSP USP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and all other senior officers of the permanent staff and their family members also participated in the event. The teams were selected from Senior Command Course 2, Junior Command Course 21, Junior Staff Course 21 and the Permanent Staff of OCDC. After competitive and exciting matches, the JCC Team 3 captained by Major PLL Pinnaduwage SR, emerged as the champions. JSC Team 2 steered by Captain PKT Paladage SLLI became runners up.

Major PLL Pinnaduwage, SR from the JCC Team 3 was awarded with the Best Batsman and the Best Player of the series as well as the Man of the Match. Maj LAMTS Premachandra MIR from Junior Command Course Team 3 became the Best Bowler in this competitive encounter.

After the successful completion of the event, all officers entertained themselves in a social gathering by adhering to COVID 19 health precautions. Creative dramas,songs and dances displayed by the members of JSC, JCC, and SCC added an extra glamour to the occasion. The function was held at the Open-Air Wing premises and finally the session culminated with a buffet lunch at the Officers’ Mess.
