NEW NEXUS INDOOR BADMINTON COURT OPENS AT OCDC PREMISES
OCDC got its new addition to the physical training hub with the inauguration of the Nexus Indoor Badminton Court. The much needed sports facility was ceremonially opened by the Commandant of OCDC with the unveiling of plaque at an auspicious time.
This training establishment was able to find financial and material necessities through local purchase to complete the construction work of this indoor badminton court. Moreover, Lieutenant Commander DMS Jayawardhana (Retd) who was present at the occasion, also assisted for the construction work.
Concurrent to this event, a badminton competition was organized having men’s doubles played with the selected team players of OCDC and the final match was held after the inauguration ceremony at the newly constructed indoor court. The doubles led by Maj KSRP Gunathilake psc SLAC and Maj TMAB Tennakoon psc SLSC became the best team and the doubles led by Dy Comdt Brig GMN Perera RWP RSP USP and Lt Col BY Nanayakkara RSP psc SLAC became the runner up team. Finally, the session culminated with the awarding of prizes by the Commandant and Chief Instructor. All other Senior Officers and other officers of OCDC participated in this event.
