JUNIOR COMMAND COURSE 20 COMMENCES

Being the military seat of excellence, the Officer Career Development Centre commenced Junior Command Course 20 on 23 November 2020 with the utmost intension of enhancing military professionalism among Army Officers and the course comprises 77 student officers in the ranks of Major and Captain including three lady officers. Delivering the opening address, Major General KJ Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds, the Commandant of OCDC warmly welcomed the student officers and underlined the necessity of following the course in order to be successful in military career. At the same time, he emphasised the value of completing this course in a competitive environment. He especially stressed upon the significance of discipline, integrity, and loyalty in military life. Prior to the Commandant’s address, the Senior Instructor of Junior Command Course, Lt Col HR Senavirathna RSP USP psc IG SLA also addressed the Student Officers. Colonel TCMGST Cooray RWP RSP USP psc, the Chief Instructor of the college addressed the student the following day. In view of setting a solid foundation to the course, he stressed upon the importance of following the course and encouraged all Student Officers to complete the particular course attentively on the same day. The Commanding Officer – Admin Wing also passed down necessary administrative instructions for the student officers. The two-day event was attended by all the Permanent Staff Officers of OCDC.
