To enhance the comradeship among the student officers as well as to drive away the boredom of the academic environment, the cricket encounter 1/2020 was organised and culminated successfully at OCDC play ground on 09 February 2020.
The Commandant of OCDC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the teams from Unit Command Course 6, Junior Command Course 18, Junior Staff Course 18 & the Permanent Staff of OCDC participated in the event. Team 1 of Junior Command Course captained by Major Muditha Kaluarachchi SLSC emerged as the best team and won the finals. The Junior Staff Course Team 03 led by Captain Amila Jayasinghe SLAOC became runner up.
Captain Rajeew Silva SLASC from the JCC Team 01 was awarded with the Best Batsman trophy of the series by scoring 128 runs in 4 matches and Major Amila Prasanna SLSR from JCC Team 01 became the Best Bowler in this competitive encounter.
After the successful completion of the event, all the officers entertained themselves in a social gathering. A creative drama and a dance displayed by the members of Junior Staff Course added an extra glamour to the occasion. The function was held at the open cinema premises and finally the session concluded with a buffet lunch at the Officers’ Mess.
