INAUGURATION OF UNIT COMMAND COURSE 6 AND JUNIOR COMMAND COURSE 18
Discharging the leading role, Officer Career Development Centre commenced UCC 06 and JCC 18 with the utmost intension of enhancing military professionalism of army officers on 03rd January 2020.
The Unit Command Course 06 is comprised of 24 student officers in the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel and Major and, the Junior Command Course 18 is comprised of 53 student officers in the ranks of Major and Captain including one foreign officer from Nepal.
Delivering the opening address, Major General K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds, the Commandant of OCDC welcomed the student officers on 04th January 2020 and highlighted the necessity of following UCC and JCC and emphasised the value of completing these courses in a competitive environment. At the same time, he stressed upon the significance of being inspired with discipline, integrity and loyalty in military life.
Setting a solid foundation, the gathering was also addressed and welcomed by Colonel WSN Hemarathna RWP RSP psc, the Chief Instructor of the college. In his speech, he stressed the importance of becoming a professionally qualified officer in the Army. Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of following the course and encouraged all student officers to complete the particular course diligently. The day’s event was attended by all the permanent staff officers of OCDC.
Similarly, the Senior Instructors of UCC and JCC addressed the student officers on 03rd January 2020 and the Commanding Officer - Admin Wing also passed down necessary admin instructions during his Admin briefing.
