THE COMMANDANT OF OCDC IS BESTOWED WITH A TWO STAR MAJOR GENERAL RANK
The Commandant, Officer Career Development Centre, Brigadier K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment has been promoted to the rank of Major General with effect from 08 November 2019.
In keeping with military traditions, the newly promoted Major General Jayanath Jayaweera was warmly welcomed to the OCDC premises on 11 Nov 19 by all officers of the permanent staff amidst a Guard Turnout at the main entrance followed by a special ceremony.
The ceremony commenced by a tree planting session and then, an inspiring troop address was disseminated by him at the Main Auditorium. Later, the Commandant participated in all ranks tea which was arranged at the Facility Complex. The Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, CO and several other Officers were also present at the occasion.
The day’s programme saw its culmination with a special lunch session arranged at the Officers’ Mess.
