Junior Command Course 17 commenced on 05 September 2019. 53 officers in the ranks of Major and Captain including three foreign officers from friendly foreign countries of Bangladesh, Nepal , Nigeria and one Lady Officer from SLAGSC have been enlisted to follow the course.
Delivering the opening address, Major General DMDCD Gunawardane RWP USP ndc psc, the Commandant of OCDC welcomed the student officers and highlighted the value of completing this course in a competitive environment. He also emphasised the value of discipline, integrity and loyalty in the military life.
Setting a solid foundation, Colonel WSN Hemarathna RWP RSP psc, the Chief Instructor, in his speech, stressed the importance of becoming a professionally qualified officer in the Army. During the course briefing, the Senior Instructor – JCC emphasised the importance of following the course and encouraged them to complete the course successfully.
The Commanding Officer - Admin Wing addressed the course on the same day and gave necessary admin instructions. The day’s event was attended by all the permanent staff officers of OCDC.
