The two-day seminar on Challenges in Evolving the National Security in Sri Lanka, organized by the Officer Career Development Centre (OCDC), began with the inauguration ceremony this morning and Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker.
As per the military customs and traditions the OCDC Commandant, Major General Chandana Gunawardana delivered his welcome speech and Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake afterwards delivered the keynote address, stressing upon the validity of conducting seminars on current issues in today's context.
Fifty-three Senior Officers of the Sri Lanka Army in the ranks of Brigadier and Colonel are attending the Seminar 1/2019, along with the members of the other sister services, and lecturers from KDU and University of Peradeniya. The five sessions of the Seminar will be followed by interactive question and answer sessions, allowing the participants to share their views.
