WORK SHOP ON “ROLE OF THE ARMED FORCES IN DISASTER MANAGEMENTâ€
The workshop on “Role of the Armed Forces in Disaster Management†Conducted by Officer Career Development Centre held on 08 and 09 December 2014.the module was opportunity given for the middle grade officers from Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force and Police to learn and interact for better cooperation in the future endeavors of responding to crisis situations. Total of 72 officers participated included 61 officers (equivalent ranks) from Sri Lanka Army, 4 officers from Sri Lanka Navy, 4 officers from Sri Lanka Air Force and 3 officers from Sri Lanka Police. It was structured to discuss and study the role of armed forces during a disastrous situation in order to build awareness and formulate standard and procedures as one of the principle stakeholder.
Maj Gen L B R Mark ( Rtd) Director General DMC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Maj Gen A M Perera RWP RSP psc , Maj Gen P P De Silva WWV RWP RSP psc, Brig M M S Perera psc, Brig H P N K Jayapathirane RSP were participated as Invitees.
