SENIOR COMMAND COURCE ON STUDY VISIT TO ‘STAR’ GARMENTS FACTORY BUTTALA

Student Officers of Senior Command Course 10 (SCC) who are currently undergoing training at the Army War College (AWC) Buttala made an educational visit to the Star Garments Factory managed under the 'Stars' Group, a leading global manufacturing company at the Industrial Zone Buttala located in Monaragala District on 28 March 2024. The visit was a partial fulfilment of the curriculum of the course in studying and enhancing the knowledge of the concepts of Human Resource Management through the process of the apparel manufacturing industry

The visiting trainees were warmly welcomed by the Human Resource Manager and his staff at their premises. At the outset, Student Officers were educated on the functions and details of their productions specifically with the related specialties in designing, marketing, sourcing and distribution of their items to the competitive global market with a presentation made by the Human Resource Manager and his staff

Next, they observed the operation of the production line of the factory which enabled them to get a first-hand experience and a clear understanding of the entire process. Then the Student Officers were given the opportunity to take part in an interactive session in which they clarified certain queries related to the industrial sector.

Marking this memorable visit, the Commandant of Army War College Major General Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc presented a memento to the General Manager Southern Cluster of Star Garments Mr. Janaka De Silva as a token of appreciation

The Senior Instructor, members of the Directing Staff also took part in this educational visit along with 29 Student Officers
