SEMINAR 2/2015 CONDUCTED BY OCDC

The Officer Career Development Centre of the Sri Lanka Army was inaugurated on 23rd January 2012 with a view to enhance the knowledge of middle-grade and senior officers of the Sri Lanka Army on defence management, academic enrichment in techniques and strategies of join warfare. The Centre is also bestowed with the noble task of grooming middle grade officers of the Sri Lanka Army. Stepping further along the path, we organize seminars and workshops for Senior Officers of Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force and Police on selected disciplines bi-annually. This year, with the vision of the commander of the Sri Lanka Army, to provide strategic exposure to senior officers especially those in the rank of Lt Colonel and Major. Thepertinent topic on "Professional Competency and Self-Development, a Complementary Partnership Imperative to Officers" wasthe theme of the seminar 2/2015 at the main auditorium from 14th Dec 15 to 16thDec 15. The Commander of the Sri Lanka Army,Lt Gen A W J C de SilvaRWP VSV USP ndu psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commandant Brigadier R A Nugera WWV RWP RSP ndu of the Officer Career Development Centre invited to the Commander of the Army and senior officers from the Army to lighting of the traditional oil lamp commenced the event. Seniorofficers, eminent intellectuals participated as the Guest Speakers. The Guest Speakers of the Seminar 2/2015 conducted by the OCDC were as follows. The seminar 2/2015 was conducted under 9 sessions and each session considered with main topic, Lectures were conducted according to the given subtopic by the Guest speakers, senior Army officers and civil intellectuals respectively. The selection of the topic for the seminar, the guidance of the Commander of the Army was very inspiring and effective. It is certain that the topic is applicable to groom the officers of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and Majors in the Sri Lanka Army. Moreover the sequence that the seminar was conducted made it easier to impart the knowledge of eminent personalities who participated as guest lecturers.
