OCDC HOLDS THE FIRST EVER BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The OCDC Basketball Tournament was held successfully at the newly opened outdoor basketball court on 27 November 2021 to enhance comradeship and organising capabilities of Student Officers of SCC 3 and JCC 22. The Commandant of the Officer Career Development Centre, Major General DBSN Bothota RWP RSP USP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The tournament was organized on the direction of the Commandant under the supervision of Deputy Commandant and the Chief Instructor mainly focusing on uplifting the sportsmanship among the student officers of this prestigious training centre. The event was held with strict adherence to the COVID 19 health precautions.

After giving neck-to neck challenge to their counterpart, the Permanent Staff Team 01 captained by Senior Instructor of JCC, Col BY Nanayakkara RSP psc SLAC secured the championship in the finals. JCC Team 01 captained by Maj WWYN Frenando SLSR clinched the runner-up position. Major Saif Zobaed, Bangladesh Army from the same team became the best player of the tournament.
