OCDC CRICKET ENCOUNTER 2021/1 ENDS IN A THRILLING VICTORY TO OCDC DS TEAM

OCDC held their much-anticipated Cricket Encounter successfully on Sunday, 7 March 2021 at OCDC playground with the aspiration of boosting team spirit and organising capability among the student officers with the participation of the three teams from the courses and the permanent staff.

The Commandant of OCDC, Maj Gen DBSN Bothota RWP RSP USP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and all other senior officers of the permanent staff participated in the event. The teams were selected from Senior Command Course 1, Junior Command Course 20, Junior Staff Course 20 and the Permanent Staff of OCDC. After competitive and exciting matches, the Directing Staff Team captained by Major RMA Rathnayake RWP RSP psc SF, emerged as the best team. JCC Team Number 06 steered by Major SNBMAS Bandara SLSC became runners up.

Major MAD Priyadarshana, SLEME from the Directing Staff Team was awarded with the Best Batsman trophy of the series, the best player of the series as well as the man of the match. Captain KS Chathuranga GW from Junior Command Course became the Best Bowler in this competitive encounter.

After the successful completion of the event, all officers entertained themselves in a social gathering by adhering to COVID 19 health precautions. Creative dramas and dances displayed by the members of JSC, JCC, and SCC added an extra glamour to the occasion. The function was held at the Open Air Wing premises and finally the session concluded with a buffet lunch at the Officers' Mess.
